![]() ![]() This kind of moving/rotating also has faults, especially with complex details so don't understand it as my idea of replacing Triball. In IC there may be new window (showed after beginning of operation) which would intercept all keyboard input. In Sketchup there is status bar with entered value. Rest works similiar to moving (snapping to axis, entering angle, copies.). Select point to work as handle (don't have to lay on object), Select pointwhich will be center of rotation (don't have to lay on object), If I want to make several copies between original and new position I have to write "/". Ex "*5" says that I want to make next 5 copies of that object. If I want to make several copies (using the same distance) i have to directly after move, write "*". Or just click left mouse button to accept new position. In every moment I can write on keyboard (no extra window) distance, after accepting by Enter my object is in new position, Pressing Ctrl makes a COPY of my object (it will be fantastic if it woulg be linked copy), Pressing Up says that I want to move by special edge, like normal to face, tangent, etc (it probably will be problematic in IC, so don't do this). Pressing Down/Left/Right arrow I can select on which axis is made my move (like snap to axis) pressing arrow second time remove that restriction, Move it freely by mouse, snapping to special points (like now with Shift) on project, Select point of any object (you will move this point, rest of object will head), Select function (move) of course as keyboard shortcut, It's the easiest and fastest way I have ever seen in 3D-drawing software. I know that it may be strange for some users, but consider add functions for easy moving, rotating and copying objects, like in Sketchup. It's a pity that I even cannot assign keyboard shortcut for "OK/Cancel" icons in function window. Distance specify move distance by typing a number and Enter. Alt auto-fold (allow move even if it means adding extra edges and faces) Arrows lock direction up blue, right red, left green, and down parallel/perpendicular. Menu, function, value, OK, menu, option, move, enter value, click OK. Shift hold down to lock in current inference direction. Click and drag the cursor to start walking. Now a huge part of drawing and aligning of objects is made by clicking. Heres the, uh, step-by-step for walking through your model: Select the Walk tool ( ). Despite all the alternatives mentioned.IronCad allow fast drawing. ![]() I appreciate everybody’s answer in this topic.įor now I have to take as something that the software is not able to do. But I believe that somewhere in the software there’s something telling SU to lock the axis when a arrow key is pressed.Īnd maybe there will be possible to replace the arrow key for whatever the user prefer. And I don’t know anything about programming. Measure a distance click once to start measuring, and again to stop. I understand that an extension is not the solution. Press Ctrl (Option on a Mac) until you don’t see a + next to your cursor. ![]() Hopefully they'll help you when navigating, drawing, using camera and in more tasks. We have collected this list from the program settings. In the sidebar on the left, select the preference panel that you need. 7 months ago - in Shortcuts 0 comments If you want to be more advanced SketchUp Pro user, you'll want to utilize the keyboard shortcut. To access these preferences, select Window > Preferences (Microsoft Windows) or SketchUp > Preferences (Mac OS X) from the menu bar. Maybe it’s something that a new version of sketchup will bring. In SketchUp, preferences options enable you to customize your workspace. Just replacing the axis lock keys from arrow keys to anything else on the SU preferences would be ideal, but at the moment is impossible. 4 Likes TheOnlyAaron October 23, 2018, 4:58pm 4 Just to clarify 4 Likes DaveR October 23, 2018, 5:03pm 5 Very good, TheOnlyAaron. And btw, Esc has never selected Select Tool. There’s a few alternatives mentioned, some hardware based like left handed keyboards, external keypads with arrow keys and another alternative would be software based with the remapping of my keyboard outside SU. It is merely the shortcut for Select Tool, in the same way P is the shortcut for Push/Pull tool. As you scroll through, each model will be highlighted in green. Use the Arrow Up and Arrow Down keys to scroll through the models. Still would like to have the arrows available to my left hand.Īs it was explained here before, it’s not possible. To select the model you want: Place the mouse over the Object Icons. ![]() Yes, I know that and I actually have one of the buttons on my space mouse as shift. ![]()
